Scott Associates—AUDITS and REVIEWS for reliability and credibility

Audits and reviews improve the reliability and credibility of your financial statements and increase your shareholders’ confidence in them. Scott Associates provides a range of auditing services to our clients. We either perform the audit or review for you or manage an independent auditor on your behalf.

We provide financial audits and reviews that improve the reliability and credibility of your business information or financial processes. These meet Government compliance requirements or provide a third-party perspective on your business.

    SMSF audits

The Principal of Scott Associates, Mark Scott, is a registered ASIC SMSF Auditor. Since 1 July 2013, self managed super fund trustees must appoint an approved SMSF auditor, registered with the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC), to audit your SMSF each year.

The auditor of your SMSF must be independent. This means that they cannot be a trustee or member of the fund nor the person or accountant who prepared the SMSF accounts (please note we cannot prepare the accounts and conduct the audit on the same fund).

    Statutory audits

Scott Associates will arrange an independent registered company auditor to perform you’re annual financial audit.

Public companies (or similar entities) in Australia must have their financial statements audited by a registered company auditor every year (as determined by the Corporations Act 2001). A company must also obtain an auditor’s report about the conduct of the audit.

    External reviews

Scott Associates will prepare external reviews for companies that want an independent third-party analysis of their financial statements or systems. We provide independent and professional scrutiny of your business’ finances.

We perform a range of financial reviews from full financial statement reviews; balance sheet reviews; assessments of financial systems and reporting processes; and reviews against specific requirements or procedures.
